What our clients say
Asgeir was absolutely wonderful as a Tourist advisor and guide on what to do in beautiful Iceland. We enjoyed so much following his guidance and really enjoyed the sites.

We had a great time touring Iceland with Ásgeir. He came along in our car and really showed us all there is to see in Iceland! Highly recommend him to show you around the good photo spots. He’s the best!

My trip to Iceland would not have been the same had I gone anywhere but to Ásgeir. Strandsel Iceland Tours is the one stop shop for Iceland information and guidance. Ásgeir is not just a friendly guide, but a knowledgeable local who offers clients the Icelandic experience they seek. Clients are shown the beautiful, panoramic scenery from the unique perspective of Ásgeir’s photographic eye. Don’t miss out on Strandsel Iceland Tours, there is truly no other way to experience Iceland than with Ásgeir. Thank you Ásgeir!

We first met Asgeir when he beautifully photographed our wedding 20 yrs ago. After an internet search (wanting to get info about Traveling to Iceland from Asgeir,) we saw Asgeir was a tour guide in Iceland as well as a photographer. We have been using tour guides a bit in our recent travels, as it’s an efficient and ultimately cost effective way to tour on a limited time budget. Well, we spent 6 days with Asgeir, making a loop around the top of Iceland, going to places WAY off the tourist trail. We were treated to a local’s knowledge, and as he drove in our car. We learned about history, culture, geology, and of course amazing photograph opportunities. I believe we became better friends. Asgeir has a great personality, full of energy and ideas. I know we truly got to understand this country from an Icelander’s point of view. BTW, we had been on a bus tour in the Souhern Iceland with my daughters choral group the week previous, which was a good tour, but filled with crowded tourist stops. We really saw the contrast in experiences to be guided to out of the way areas, to places that were equally as stunning, but empty. We treasure this experience, which was worth every penny.

Asgeir Bollason gave us an excellent tour it was awesome going with a native-born Icelander. He was super considerate for my (at the time) 72 year old father and what he could and could not do. I highly recommend his tours.

** No longer selling to the California consumer **
Is Strandsel a licensed tour operator?Strandsel is licensed as a tour operator by the State of California Seller of Travel Reg. # 2113210 and is fully insured for third party claims for injury, damage, death and loss. Full details of our insurance coverage and a copy of our license are available upon request.
Can Strandsel arrange my travel to and/or from Iceland?
We do not include travel to Iceland as standard in the cost of tours. As a tour operator in California I am not licensed to sell airfare, I can only
suggest airport departure points from USA to Iceland and possible airlines that fly
directly to Iceland from various cities in USA. Iceland’s international airport is called Keflavik Airport (KEF) and is located about 45 minutes away from the capital, Reykjavik. Direct flights to and from most European countries and many key locations in the USA are available year round.
What level are the tours? Do I need to be an expert photographer?
All of our tours are suitable for photographers of all levels, however less experienced photographers may prefer to start with a shorter tour. Please call us if you would like further advice.
